For many years, wooden floors over underfloor heating were considered a definite no-go. Damage to the flooring due to overheating and the insulation effect were the main concerns. Skepticism was even greater when dealing with drywall construction. However, the COMPACT FLOOR DIRECT 1.5 heat-conducting layer can also offer a suitable solution for floating wood or vinyl flooring. This impact sound insulation layer, only 1.5 mm thin, is specially optimized for underfloor heating and achieves up to 17% higher heat output compared to conventional cork underlayment. Thanks to its aluminum coating, COMPACT FLOOR DIRECT 1.5 also functions as a vapor barrier beneath the floating wood flooring.
