Responsibility
Sustainable product development is an essential key to addressing global challenges and an integral part of our thinking and actions. We take personal responsibility for ensuring that environmental protection is not merely about complying with legal standards. For us, it is a fundamental contribution to a future worth living in, one we make with deep conviction.
We began developing environmentally friendly alternatives as early as the 1990s. Today, we offer a wide range of our products in sustainable versions and continuously implement measures to optimize our environmental footprint.
"We are committed to this because we believe in it."."
Andreas Piephans, Managing Partner mfh systems

Energy efficiency and emission reduction at mfh systems
We focus on energy efficiency and emissions reduction to minimize consumption and environmental impact. Targeted measures in production and the workplace promote energy savings and prevent emissions. In this way, we are shaping a sustainable future with a focus on renewable energies.
- Integration of a photovoltaic system
- Use of heat pumps at the site
- Environmentally conscious use of wood waste through modern pellet heating technology
- Use of electric vehicles
Sustainable insulation materials
The award from the Institute for Building Biology Rosenheim GmbH ( IBR ) underscores our commitment to providing sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions for construction projects. We are proud to contribute to an environmentally friendly construction industry and remain dedicated to sustainable innovations to meet and exceed the requirements of modern building projects.

Future-oriented product protection: Circular economy and resource conservation
Our vision for sustainable product protection is based on a circular economy and resource conservation. We manufacture our products with optimized materials, increasingly using recycled and non-fossil raw materials. Increasing recyclability while maintaining consistently high quality is our stated goal, for example through recyclable insulation materials and composites.
We began developing ecological alternatives as early as the 1990s. Our contribution to product-related environmental protection and the circular economy.
- Reduction of raw material use
- Increasing processing of renewable raw materials
- Improving recyclability
- Development and use of recyclable composites
- Reduction of production waste
- Extensive separate collection of waste
- Improved reversibility
- Orientation towards the principle of the circular economy
- Increased reusability
Membership in the DGNB
Sustainability is more than just lip service for us. That's why we are a member of Europe's largest network for sustainable building (DGNB). As an association, the DGNB eV and its members are committed to demonstrably good buildings, livable neighborhoods, in short, a future-proof built environment.

Trust through tested products
We are an official cooperation partner of the Sentinel Holding Institute (SHI) – our products are tested, certified, and documented with the SHI product passport to ensure transparency and safety.
Thanks to this collaboration, planners and builders benefit from tested, sustainable solutions at a glance.

Greater transparency in the construction industry
Environmentally conscious construction requires transparency. That's why we support the Institute for Building and Environment (IBU) . As an independent association, the IBU uses verified EPDs to ensure that the environmental impacts of building products are presented transparently and honestly – an important foundation for truly sustainable construction.

Environmental Product Declarations
(EPD – Environmental Product Declaration)
EPDs show the environmental impact of building products throughout their entire life cycle – from production to disposal. This includes, among other things, data on the CO₂ footprint.
This transparency helps planners, architects, and building owners make sustainable decisions. The importance of such key performance indicators in building planning is constantly increasing.
As the first company with a complete EPD for an entire underfloor heating system, we are taking on a pioneering role and setting standards for greater sustainability in the construction sector at an early stage.
Several IDEAL systems have already been recorded and their environmental impact documented in the individual life phases.
The EPDs are available for download on the IBU website (search term: "mfh").
