The IDEAL underfloor heating system and the new SAFETEC reinforcement and decoupling membrane combine the advantages of classic screed underfloor heating with modern dry construction systems. The result is a state-of-the-art underfloor heating system suitable for both renovations and new builds. It is characterized by a low installation height, low weight, low moisture content, high heat output, and a fast response time. Conventional underfloor heating systems consist of water-bearing heating pipes laid on an insulating underlay and embedded in a screed that is 60-70 mm thick and weighs 120-140 kg. Before the screed can release its heat into the room, it must be heated. The lower the required heating water temperature, the longer the heating process takes. Especially when combined with heat pumps, whose efficiency depends on low heating water temperatures, this results in an outdated and sluggish heating system. In addition, the weight, height and moisture content of the screed in classic constructions pose challenges for planners and craftsmen in renovation projects.
Mfh systems is now presenting an innovative solution that sets standards in several respects: The heating elements, equipped with aluminum heat-conducting plates for rapid heat dissipation, including the bonded SAFETEC reinforcing and decoupling membrane, require only a 10 mm thin leveling compound. This compound is walkable after just a few hours and can accommodate all types of flooring in a short time, making it ideal for rapid renovations. The smooth surface of the system allows even the thinnest design and LVT floor coverings to be installed directly without any further preparation. In addition to its time-saving application in small and awkwardly shaped rooms, SAFETEC can also be efficiently installed over larger areas, as the leveling compounds used are generally pumpable.
Thanks to its flat, highly thermally conductive design, the heating water temperature generated by the heat pump can be set extremely low. Due to the low mass and minimal covering, this does not compromise comfort. The IDEAL system with SAFETEC remains a fast-responding, on-demand heating system.
Another advantage is the clear interface between the trades involved in the flooring work: The installation of the underfloor heating and the SAFETEC membrane is carried out by the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning (PHVAC) contractor. After installing the IDEAL underfloor heating and the SAFETEC decoupling membrane, the heating contractor hands over a perfectly prepared surface for subsequent trades such as flooring, parquet, and tile installers to apply standard leveling compound. The finished construction is walkable after just a few hours, and the installation of the floor coverings can begin after only 24 hours.
